Why a fixed-rate payment changes
In short
With a fixed-rate loan, principal and interest stay the same, but the escrow part of the payment can change. Property tax reassessments, insurance premium changes and the end of mortgage insurance all move the total. Your servicer reviews escrow each year and tells you about any change in advance.
